As snowbirds flock home, a new visitor arrives in the Palm Beaches.  From spring through summer, South Florida beaches and reefs are a vacation destination for nesting sea turtles.  Join us for a Sea Turtle Photo Workshop to capture stunning images of these underwater shellebrities!

Momma turtles make a long journey to lay their clutches of eggs on our sandy shores.  The shallow reefs just off Florida’s east coast make the perfect resting ground for these tired ladies.

SEA TURTLE SPECIES

With the influx of sea turtles comes the opportunity to observe and photograph a range of species

Loggerhead sea turtles are some of the most common to find during a dive.  Photographers are likely to encounter Hawksbill sea turtles and Green sea turtles as well.

It’s not unheard of to find a Kemp’s Ridley, the rarest species of sea turtle, on local reefs.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Dive in with Photo Pro Andrea Whitaker during a Sea Turtle Photo Workshop.  Discover why sea turtles return to the Palm Beaches time and again.  Understand best practices for photographing endangered species.  Find out how to better maintain neutral buoyancy and manage your camera rig in a drift environment.  Learn about local and global sea turtle conservation efforts.

After a classroom session, hop aboard a 2-tank charter to dive with Andrea.  Drift through shallow water as you find and photograph sea turtles slumbering and snacking on the reef.  Review your images during the surface interval, then fine tune your photos during the second dive. The 2-tank dive charter is included with the Sea Turtle Photo Workshop.
