NOVEMBER SOCIAL NIGHT – RECOGNIZING DCS
Join us on Friday, November 8 for our Social Night: Recognizing Decompression Sickness. Most divers have a basic understanding of the signs and symptoms of Decompression Sickness. But are these signs and symptoms consistent with the markers used by professionals to identify DCS? You may be surprised to find out what is truly representative of Decompression Sickness in a patient, and how it presents in a clinical setting.
Featured guest speaker Joseph Dituri is a retired US Navy Saturation Diver and member of the International Board of Undersea Medicine. Learn from his firsthand experience as a professional hyperbaric recompression chamber operator. You will learn the newest and most accurate information to recognize DCS. Divers of all ages are encouraged to attend. No prior medical or extensive dive knowledge is needed to benefit from attending this event.
During his time in the Navy, Mr. Dituri served as the Officer-in-Charge Deep Submergence Unit (DSU) Diving Systems Detachment (DSD). In a civilian capacity Joseph is the author of numerous diver-training manuals and a co-author of the book “Tao of Survival Underwater.” He is also a contributing author to Hyperbaric Medical Practice (4th edition) and the Navy Diving Manual.
