Thank you to everyone who joined us on Friday, November 11th for a fascinating presentation about one of our favorite gentle giants; Manatees! We had a great turnout for the event, and raised more than $90 in donations for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s Monofilament Recovery & Recycling Program.
Guests also “adopted” manatees, which will adorn the shop throughout the holiday season.
Aarin Allen, of the FWC, engaged attendees in a fascinating presentation. He shared little known facts about manatees, and explained how we can help with both daily and long-term conservation efforts for this protected marine species. You can learn more about the FWC’s Manatee Conservation Program by visiting their website, at http://myfwc.com/manatee.
Our delicious Thanksgiving feast was made even better by contributions from our awesome guests, who brought apple pie, fruit and cheese platters, and more! Check out photos from the event below, or post your own on our Facebook page.
