Join us on Saturday, June 20 at 11:00 AM for a family-friendly event that combines ocean education and adventure!

We’ll begin with a book reading and meet-and-greet featuring 9-year-old author Emiliana Fuger, creator of Anatomy Under the Sea: The Adventures of Luna the Loggerhead. Kids and adults will learn about sea turtle biology, marine conservation, and simple ways everyone can help protect our oceans. After the reading, we’ll head into the water for a guided snorkel tour at the world-famous Blue Heron Bridge. Be sure to RSVP for both events, below!

FAMILY FUN SNORKEL TOUR

Known for its incredible marine life, Blue Heron Bridge is one of South Florida’s top snorkeling and diving destinations. You’ll find tropical fish, rays, octopus, seahorses, and hopefully sea turtles!

To join the snorkel tour, all participants must be comfortable snorkelers and confident swimming in water too deep to stand.

Snorkel gear is available to rent. Be sure to reserve what you need in advance.

MEET EMILIANA: A YOUNG VOICE FOR CONSERVATION

Emiliana is inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards through her project, Turtle Talks: Empowering Kids to Protect Our Oceans. By combining scientific research, creative storytelling, and community outreach, she teaches children about sea turtle biology and marine conservation throughout South Florida.

Her journey began in 2024 when she created a handmade sea turtle model for the Wavemakers Competition. While researching the project, Emiliana discovered there were very few age-appropriate resources that explained sea turtle anatomy for young learners. Inspired to fill that gap, she wrote her first book, “Anatomy Under the Sea: The Adventures of Luna the Loggerhead.”

The book explores sea turtle anatomy while comparing it to other ocean animals, making marine science fun, engaging, and easy for children to understand.

Through her Turtle Talks presentations and book readings, Emiliana has already reached hundreds of children and adults, encouraging simple but meaningful conservation actions—like leaving beaches cleaner than they found them and protecting marine wildlife.
