BAJA ULTIMATE WHALES ITINERARY
Start your journey in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. From Cabo, we explore Baja California Sur by land and sea.
We start with a humpback whale watching tour and an overnight stay in La Paz. Then, we board an expedition yacht to explore the Sea of Cortez, with aerial support to help find blue whales, dolphins, orcas, and more!
Next, we fly San Ignacio for luxury glamping, heading into the Lagoon each day in search of friendly gray whales.
TRIP DATES: January 28 – February 4, 2027
Wednesday, January 27
Fly in to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. You will want to arrive at least a 1 day before the scheduled Baja Ultimate Whales departure.
There’s plenty to explore in and around Cabo. Coordinate with your Trip Leader to add on day dives in Los Cabos, and more.
Thursday, January 28
Head out mid-day for humpback whale watching, before we head to La Paz for an overnight stay.
Land transfers to La Paz, overnight accomodations, and dinner are included.
Friday, January 29
Swim with whale sharks in the Mogote preserve, weather permitting, or visit Isla Espiritu Santo, a UNESCO World Heritage site, for a day of exploration. After lunch, snorkel with sea lions!
End the day with a cocktail hour, sunset cruise, and dinner aboard the expedition yacht Gallant Lady.
Saturday, January 30 – Sunday, January 31
Search for mama and baby blue whales in the Sea of Cortez! With aerial support, we may also find large pods of dolphins, finback whales, mobula rays, and even orcas, sperm whales, and false killer whales.
Enjoy beach excursions, hiking opportunities, kayaking, and more.
Monday, February 1
After breakfast, we fly to San Ignacio Lagoon for a champagne welcome at camp. Enjoy brunch, a wildlife briefing, and then head into the lagoon to meet gray whales!
Unwind with a cocktail hour and campfire as we watch the sun set. After dinner, learn from a naturalist, enjoy a game of pool, or visit the bar tent.
Flights from La Paz to San Ignacio and land transportation to camp are included.
Tuesday, February 2 – Wednesday, February 3
Spend your mornings and afternoons interacting with gray whales in the Lagoon. Encounters are entirely on the whales’ terms, with whales approaching pangas, which are restricted to a small section of the lagoon. Learn how locals moved away from harmful whaling practices to develop sustainable ecotourism in its place.
During down time, relax in luxury glamping accommodations or explore the island hiking, kayaking, bird watching, or mountain biking.
Each day, enjoy cocktail hour, campfires, or visit the Salty Dog Bar tent.
Thursday, February 4
Before we say goodbye to San Ignacio, we will journey out for a final whale outing. The return flight back to Cabo San Lucas is included with the trip. From there, head home or stick around to enjoy more adventures!

ACCOMMODATIONS
The Gallant Lady liveaboard is a 116′ yacht that combines luxury with a deck built for divers and snorkelers. The yacht features a sky lounge, main lounge with wrap-around view, sun deck, and water-level platform. Capacity is limited to just 12 guests.
PREMIUM SUITE & LUXURY TENT
The spacious premium suite can be configured with a California King or 2 double beds. Enjoy a private ensuite bathroom and shower.
The premium suite is $5,995 per person, double occupancy.
SUPERIOR SUITES & LUXURY TENTS
Superior suites can be configured with a California King or 2 double beds. Enjoy an ensuite bathroom and shower.
Superior suites are $5,750 per person, double occupancy.
At camp, luxury tents feature a sitting area with couches and chairs, a dresser, a large ensuite bathroom and shower, and a chandelier above your choice of a King bed or two twin beds. All the comforts of home are provided, like 24-hour electricity, heat, and hot and cold water running water. Internet access is available.
BAJA ULTIMATE WHALES ADVENTURE
The Baja Ultimate Whales trip includes 8 days, 7 nights accommodations departing from and returning to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Land transfers between Cabo and La Paz, domestic flights between La Paz and San Ignacio Lagoon are included.

A non-refundable deposit of $2,300 per person is due at the time of booking.

- All Baja Ultimate Whales Trip reservations include a non-refundable $2,300 per person.
- At 7 months prior to the trip, 70% of the total trip cost is non-refundable.
- No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 120 days of the trip.

DIVE INSURANCE
All participants are required to show proof of current dive or medical accident insurance from a recognized and reputable carrier that includes evacuation coverage.
We highly recommended that you purchase trip insurance as well to help recoup non-refundable deposits and trip costs in the event that you need to cancel your reservation. Please note that trip insurance is different from dive accident insurance.
