The International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) is the world’s largest, one-day volunteer effort to clean up the marine environment. With volunteers from over 100 countries, International Coastal Cleanup Day is dedicated to the improvement of beaches, coastal regions and surrounding areas throughout the world. The Ocean Conservancy, the world’s largest organization focusing exclusively on the health of the marine environment, has sponsored this annual event for the past 29 years.
So with great pleasure, we announce that Pura Vida Divers has partnered with The Palm Beach County Diving Association and Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful to participate in the 2016 International Coastal Cleanup on September 17, 2016. Our location is Phil Foster Park!
This is a FREE event! Divers, snorkelers, surfers, and beach goers are all welcome to attend.
All volunteers participating in the 2016 International Coastal Cleanup at Phil Foster Park will be required to sign a liability release at the registration table upon sign in.
To thank everyone for participating, Pura Vida Divers will weigh everyone’s collected trash and marine debris, for a chance to win a free boat pass for a 2-tank dive trip aboard Sirena, or a half day surfboard or paddle board rental. The individual who collects the most trash (by weight) and turns in a completed International Coaster Cleanup Data Card will be our winner and may choose their prize.
Itinerary for the day:
9:00am: Meet at the picnic tables near the playground for a beach cleanup orientation. We will provide cleanup materials and hand out goodie bags to those who attend while supplies last. Supplies are limited, so be sure to get there early.
12:00pm: Please bring your collected trash and completed data cards back to the picnic tables. Everyone who turns in a completed data card will have their trash weighed for a chance to win a prize. The individual who collects the most trash (by weight) will be our winner!
