Join Pura Vida Divers, a Project AWARE partner, on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 3:30pm and become a Project AWARE Specialist!
The goal of Project AWARE is to gather a global force of scuba divers and ocean stewards who choose to make a difference one dive at a time. By earning the Project AWARE Specialist certification, you’ll be aware of the most pressing problems facing vulnerable aquatic environments and know what everyday actions you can take to help protect them.
Through this course, you learn:
* How Project AWARE unites scuba divers and water enthusiasts to make a difference.
* About environmental issues in the ocean commons and coastal zones.
* About fisheries challenges and sustainability problems.
* What’s happening to coral reefs and reef inhabitants.
* Your role in protecting aquatic environments.
There are no prerequisites, age restrictions, water sessions or scuba certification required for this specialty, everyone is welcome to attend and student materials are FREE! You’ll use the digital manual – AWARE – Our World, Our Water – downloadable for free here.

Should you wish to conduct a dive in conjunction with this course, PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) instructor Tito Oliveras will be conducting a beach dive on October 11th to accompany this course. High Tide is at 7:57am, and Tito requests that all divers meet at 6:30am for a dive briefing. This dive is optional and not required, however all attending must be scuba certified.
