Are you an effective buddy to every type of diver?  Do you enjoy sharing your passion for scuba diving with others?

During the PADI Adaptive Support Diver course, raise your awareness of the different ability levels of scuba divers and freedivers.  Learn how you can best support divers who overcome physical or mental challenges to participate in the sport we all love.  

Learn from our experienced Instructors.  Practice techniques that you can use to support a dive buddy with a disability.

During the PADI Adaptive Support Diver course, complete knowledge development and two diving workshops.  Learn useful techniques that will help make you a better buddy to a diver with a disability.  Understand individual considerations when diving with a buddy with a disability.

ADAPTIVE SUPPORT DIVER PREREQUISITES

  • Age 15 or older
  • Minimum PADI Open Water (or equivalent)
  • PADI Emergency First Response (or equivalent) certified within 24 months

Divers will need a full SCUBA setup to participate in the course.  Tank and weight rental are included.  Gear can be rented from Pura Vida Divers.

In order to be a safe and effective Adaptive Support Diver, students must have great buoyancy control.  We highly recommend completing the Peak Performance Buoyancy specialty before beginning this course.
