Join Pura Vida Divers as we celebrate Women’s Dive Day with a fascinating July social night presentation of Women in Diving by Renee Power on Friday, July 27th! Renee will share with us some of the history of women in SCUBA diving, as well as discuss social concerns, fitness and training, and gear selection tips beneficial to ladies of the sport. All divers are welcome, and Renee promises a surprise plot-twist that will be engaging for everyone in attendance!
The event begins at 6:30 PM. Guests will enjoy a “happy hour” spread of hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine prior to the presentation. Full event itinerary below…
Renee will be diving with Pura Vida over the weekend as well! Join us for a Ladies Dive aboard charter vessel Sirena on Saturday, July 28, or explore the Blue Heron Bridge during a Ladies shore dive the morning of Sunday, July 29. All events will be led by our female dive guides!

6:30 pm to 7 pm: Happy Hour – Enjoy refreshing hors d’oeuvres on us! Bring your favorite “potluck” style dish to share. Sip wine and beer as you chat with fellow guests, the evenings’ presenter, and the Pura Vida Crew.

7:45 pm to 8 pm: Questions & Raffle Drawing
Proceeds from our 50/50 raffle will support the Cambrian Foundation. The winner of the raffle drawing will receive a gift certificate for the value of half the proceeds raised, or they may choose to donate the entire amount.
Renee co-authored the book Women Underwater with Jill Heinerth, and has participated in dozens of underwater research projects, including exploration and survey of thousands of feet of new passages in Mexico and Florida caves. She served as Expedition Dive Safety Officer for projects in Bermuda and Florida, and is a PADI Staff Instructor and an NSS-CDS Cavern/Basic Cave Instructor.
