Not the best conditions today but a great animal encounter day! Rough seas, cold water, and low vis...yikes! Kind of a bummer since we finally had some warm weather topside. We did 100ft caves on our first dive and the Corridor on our second dive. With the low vis, the dives ranged from moderate to fair...it was just a little tough to see all the great critters we know are out there. The real action today happened topside. We had two giant Manta Rays on the surface just outside of the inlet and our divers were able to jump in and get some great photos...even in the yuck vis! Once we ventured inside the inlet, we had a huge loggerhead turtle on the surface and manatees everywhere. All of this cold water has them stacked in tight around the power plant warm water outflow. Our divers snagged some super topside photos of these gentle giants. The weather looks like it should get warmer and flatter as the week begins...be sure to hop on out for a great trip next week. We've now seen several leatherback turtles...two up on the northern reefs and one inside at the Blue Heron Bridge! It's getting turtly again! Don't forget...lobster season ends this month on the 31st so get out there while you still can and bag some bugs! Safe Diving and see you out on the water soon!

FYI...www.divepalmbeach.net is a newly created dive forum for our area. Please check it out and share photos, stories, conditions reports, environmental concerns, etc. It's a great way for everyone who loves diving here to stay connected and up-to-date on local dive topics. Also, we now have a facebook page called "Friends of Pura Vida Divers". If you love facebook, please sign up to our member list as we'll be posting updates, photos and events on that site too.

Until the next posting, safe diving and have a great last week of December!
