Warm water today from top to bottom...thank goodness! Air temps are climbing into the low to mid 90's. Dove Tear Drop and South Flower Gardentoday and saw some great critters out there! Huge Loggerhead sea turtles, eels, lots of lobster, and a nurse shark! It's turtle season! The leatherback sea turtles wrapped up their nesting season a few weeks ago, but loggerheads and greens are in mating mode! Tons of loggerheads sleeping under the ledges and on the reef and just as many on the surface mating and basking. Plus we've started to see some green turtles mating on the surface...it won't be long before the greens start nesting on the beaches. Should start to see some early Leatherback nests hatching out soon followed by little loggerheads, and finally the greens. Get out there to witness this amazing cycle. We've witnessed a beautiful great hammerhead hanging out around the end of Breakers Reef (statue area) several times over the last few weeks. And, we've seen plenty of reef and nurse sharks up around shark dive lately. Don't forget...lobster season ended March 31st so mini-season is the next opportunity to get some bugs. We still have some spots available for these July trips, so book soon to ensure a seat. FYI...www.divepalmbeach.net is a newly created dive forum for our area and the official home site for our re-vamped diving association. Please check it out and share photos, stories, conditions reports, environmental concerns, etc. It's a great way for everyone who loves diving here to stay connected and up-to-date on local dive topics. Also, we now have a facebook page called "Pura Vida Divers & Pura Vida Surf". If you love facebook, please sign up to our member list as we'll be posting updates, photos and events on that site too. Safe Diving and see you out on the water soon!
